This section describes how the NVEM appears to a programmer. You need to understand this material before you can start programming. There is a separate section dedicated to NVEM0 programming examples and NVEM0 support in SPLat/PC. The instructions specific to NVEM are in the Programming reference under non-volatile memory.

NVEM is controlled by a repertoire of some 34 SPLat instructions via a set of dedicated registers. These registers can be manipulated in a number of useful ways to simplify programming.
