XPice permits plain vanilla digital I/O expansion that is both economical and blends virtually seamlessly into the programming.

XPice is a kind of super SPiceX. With XPice we combine the hardware simplicity of SPiceX with the simple programming of I/O points that are part of the main controller board.

A XPice board is a simple shift-register based bulk I/O expansion board. Most XPice boards are capable of being cascaded (daisy-chained), so you could have more than one hung off a SPLat controller. The XBIO16HIO16 and XIRO16 expansion boards are XPice.

XPice enabled controllers will automatically recognise XPice expansion boards when they are connected. They will also report themselves to SPLat/PC with the expansion included.

The controller will appear on the SPLat/PC screen with the additional I/O showing in the I/O window, and the additional I/O can be programmed with regular instructions like GoIfInOn, INPUT, ON, OFF etc.
