Images and Fonts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The HMI file system allows you to store images and fonts that can then be displayed in your application.  SPLat\/PC does not manage these files, instead you must manually place them in the Internal Storage<\/strong> directory of the HMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firmware<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

HMI firmware is updated from time to time and you can update your HMI via the file system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Unzip the hmi430.srec or hmi700.srec firmware file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Drag the hmi430.srec or hmi700.srec file to the System Firmware<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. That’s it – the update takes about 1 minute.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Application Distribution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    You can also precompile your SPLat application and send this file to your end customer.\u00a0 This means they won’t see your secret source code and they won’t have to mess around with SPLat\/PC.\u00a0 Refer to\u00a0this page<\/a>\u00a0to see how to create a .b1n file.\u00a0 Once it’s made, simply drag and drop it into the\u00a0System Firmware<\/strong>\u00a0folder.\u00a0 Be sure to send any changed or new images and fonts as these will need to be manually placed in the\u00a0Internal Storage<\/strong>\u00a0folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    ScreenShots<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    All touch-screen controllers have an automatic facility for taking screenshots.  With the controller plugged into the USB port, navigate to the “Internal Storage” folder of the device:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Within that folder is a file initially called “sshot000.png”.  Drag that file to your desktop or a target location and the HMI firmware will automatically make a screenshot in this file.  (The HMI700 generally takes some time to do this.)  It will also increment the file name, so the next file will be called “sshot001.png”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
