Please\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/contact-us\/\">contact<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.splatco.com\/contact_form.htm\"> us<\/a>\u00a0for extended temperature range displays (special order).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The semiconductors on the board have a maximum ambient temperature rating of 70\u00b0C.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The 5V power supply regulator will shut down and self-protect if its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/knowledgebase\/glossary-of-terms\/#o608\">junction temperature<\/a>\u00a0exceeds 150\u00b0C. How hot it actually gets depends heavily on the supply voltage.The 5V regulator can operate at 70\u00b0C ambient for all conditions of loading, including 3mA for the optional LCD and 15mA for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/knowledgebase\/glossary-of-terms\/#o366\">SPice<\/a>\u00a0connectors, at supply voltages up to 18V. Above 18V you need to derate the upper temperature limit as shown under\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/knowledgebase\/product-documentation\/product-documentation-controllers\/ms120-product-documentation\/ms120-power-supply\/\">power supply details.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The chip driving the outputs will also self-heat, and eventually fail if run too hot for too long. Evaluating this factor is discussed under\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/knowledgebase\/product-documentation\/product-documentation-controllers\/ms120-product-documentation\/ms120-external-inputs-and-outputs\/ms120-bidirectional-points-used-as-outputs\/\">MS120 External digital outputs<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hot components fail faster than cool components. For semiconductors, lowering the temperature by 10\u00b0C doubles the life time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>minimum&nbsp;<\/em>operating temperature is -40\u00b0C with the proviso that there be no water condensation.
