This cable is deliberately shipped partially assembled, to allow you to finalize the assembly according to your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the UBCC1030 pack you will find:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two 5-way female connector housings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A 10-way female connector with 9 wires installed. The opposite ends of the wires have contacts crimped onto them. At that time you will allocate the lose contacts to positions within the 5-way housings. Before you go there, however, you should familiarize yourself with a couple of points:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>How the female cable connectors plug onto the board<\/strong>. Along one edge of the female connector there is a molded in protrusion (or on some brands, a series of small protrusions, one per contact). When the connector is plugged onto the board, those protrusions should be oriented towards the vertical retaining section on the board-mounted male connector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How the contacts fit in the housings.<\/strong>&nbsp;If you look carefully at the contacts, you will discover a very small bent out tag or barb. This matches an elongated slot in the side of the plastic housing, such that when the contact is inserted into the housing it clicks into place and can&#8217;t be pulled out again.
