The bidirectional pins can each be programmed as an input or as an output, so each one is capable of driving an RLX8 relay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each of the 10-pin connectors also has a positive supply pin and a 0V (labeled GND) pin. Take a few moments to locate the connectors and power pins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The basic principles in connecting an RLX8 to an OEM32\/36, using the UBCC1030 cable, are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The RLX8 board is to get its required power from the + supply voltage pin on one of the OEM32\/36 output or I\/O connectors. That means at least one of the 5-way female connectors must be located at the &#8220;+&#8221; end of a 10-pin connector, with the wire connected to the &#8220;+&#8221; pin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second 5-way female connector does not have to be on the same OEM32\/36 connector as the one with the white &#8220;+&#8221; wire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The relay drive pins on the RLX8 board are to be connected to the appropriate OEM32\/36 output pins (or I\/O pins used as outputs). When the OEM32\/36 output turns on, it connects the RLX8 relay pin to 0V and completes the power circuit around the relay coil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is no need for a ground (0V, GND) connection between the OEM32\/36 and the RLX8.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you start inserting pins into housings, it&#8217;s a good idea to have a plan for allocating RLX8 relays to OEM32\/36 pins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not use this document with RLX8 boards date coded earlier than YM002.
