{"id":3215,"date":"2025-04-17T10:07:15","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T10:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/?post_type=spl_knowledgebase&#038;p=3215"},"modified":"2025-06-10T07:39:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T07:39:17","slug":"splat-pc-troubleshooting","status":"publish","type":"spl_knowledgebase","link":"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/knowledgebase\/splat-pc-programming-software\/splat-pc-troubleshooting\/","title":{"rendered":"SPLat\/PC: Troubleshooting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Random Crashes<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>SPLat\/PC sometimes crashes at apparently random times.&nbsp; Usually, it&#8217;s when it starts up.&nbsp; A way to fix this is to delete &#8220;C:\\Users\\YourUserName\\AppData\\Roaming\\SPLat32\\INIFile\\SPLat32.INI&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The amount of table data you have assigned to NVEM0 is too much to fit the available memory space<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>A few people have been seeing this error, myself included.&nbsp; It sometimes happens after connecting to a specific board.&nbsp; It seems to be related to the size of the SPLat code, particularly on boards that SPLat\/PC doesn&#8217;t recognise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One cause of this is a problem with the application in the module, to which SPLat\/PC is not giving a suitable error message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, just adding a line in the NVEM0 section saying the following can help:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><code>NV0Byte 0<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This often doesn&#8217;t work, so one solution is to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Close SPLat\/PC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disconnect the module<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Re-open SPLat\/PC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Translate the code for the module<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Re-connect the module<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download the code<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click &#8220;Run&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing I&#8217;ve found useful is to keep a backup copy of this file handy: &#8220;C:\\Users\\YourUserName\\AppData\\Roaming\\SPLat32\\INIFile\\SPLat32.INI&#8221;.&nbsp; This process usually (but not always) helps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Close SPLat\/PC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delete &#8220;C:\\Users\\YourUserName\\AppData\\Roaming\\SPLat32\\INIFile\\SPLat32.INI&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy your backup copy of SPLat32.INI and rename it to SPLat32.INI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Re-open SPLat\/PC<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Worst case, try connecting to a known board (such as an HMI430) and then re-building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Absolute worst case, here are the steps to take:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Uninstall SPLat\/PC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delete &#8220;C:\\Users\\YourUserName\\AppData\\Roaming\\SPLat32\\INIFile\\SPLat32.INI&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Re-install SPLat\/PC<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If the problem comes back after re-connecting with your board, try the uninstall\/delete\/reinstall method shown above and then,\u00a0<strong>without connecting to your board<\/strong>, do a translate, then a save.\u00a0 After that, there should be a .B1N file in the file with the source that you can download using\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/splash-installer\/\">SPLASH<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, it&#8217;s often possible to do the translation without connecting,&nbsp;<strong>then<\/strong>&nbsp;connect and Download to Module and hit &#8220;Run&#8221;.&nbsp; This usually works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Run-Time Error -2147417848 (Automation Error)<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"557\" height=\"247\" src=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Run-Time-Error.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Run-Time-Error.png 557w, https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Run-Time-Error-300x133.png 300w, https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Run-Time-Error-64x28.png 64w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a Visual Basic error that is sometimes resolved by the simple act of deleting a blank line in your SPLat source file.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Random Crashes SPLat\/PC sometimes crashes at apparently random times.&nbsp; Usually, it&#8217;s when it starts up.&nbsp; A way to fix this is to delete &#8220;C:\\Users\\YourUserName\\AppData\\Roaming\\SPLat32\\INIFile\\SPLat32.INI&#8221;.
