Here are the rules for how this is handled with standard expansion boards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SPiceX can only be used if there are\u00a0<em>more than<\/em>\u00a064 XPice I\/Os (4 XBIO16 boards or 8 XIRO16\/HIO16 boards or equivalent). If SPLat\/PC recognizes and configures itself to the expanded configuration, it won&#8217;t work in SPiceX mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Executing an\u00a0<code><a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/knowledgebase\/programming-reference\/instructions-arranged-by-function\/splat-expansion-framework-generic-instructions\/spxtxfru-p\/\">SPxTxfrU<\/a><\/code>\u00a0or\u00a0<code><a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/knowledgebase\/programming-reference\/instructions-arranged-by-function\/splat-expansion-framework-generic-instructions\/spxmode-m\/\">SPxMode<\/a><\/code>\u00a0instruction will switch the board to SPiceX mode only if the previous condition is met.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inputs are inverted, i.e. an ON input becomes a logical 0\/False in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webprojects.cloud\/wordpress\/splatco\/knowledgebase\/glossary-of-terms\/#o414\">RAM<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connecting to SPLat\/PC after SPiceX mode is enabled will turn off SPiceX mode improperly.
